In this video, we talk about two professions that are the pinnacle of professional growth for business analysts – at least one of the branches – business architecture and enterprisearchitecture.
Being primarily transformation of the business, it is a response to digital strategy, thus connected with a wide range of topics – including Data Governance and EnterpriseArchitecture. The topic of agile transformation is emerging, either driven “bottom-up” from product leaders or “top-down” by C-level executives.
As business applications move to the cloud, and external data becomes more important, cloud analytics becomes a natural part of enterprisearchitectures. Comprehensive governance and data transparency policies are essential. Cloud brings agility and faster innovation to analytics.
Business knowledge can be maintained in the form of documents, manuals, policies, process diagrams, procedures, reports, enterprisearchitecture models, system documentation, best practices, and analysis results, among others. Knowledge Governance : What is truly true or false? Some kind of digital surveillance.
By Holt Hackney, Originally Printed in Architecture and Governance Magazine. In the first couple sentences of “Agile Integration: The Blueprint for EnterpriseArchitecture,” a recently released report by Red Hat, the authors write: “Business success is increasingly based on your ability to react to change.
What About Data Governance and Integrity? Apart from this ‘pre-packaged data’ issue, these desktop based tools do not always fit neatly into data governance policies, and raise valid questions from IT regarding which users should have access to what data. What is the IT and Budget Impact? What does IT get?

However, on the road to becoming a data-driven organization, choosing an enterprise platform often presents leaders with compromises: Strong governance or agile, self-service? Enterprise subscription plans. Enterprisearchitecture. Deep, powerful capabilities or approachable features for broader use cases?
How can integrating Strategic Portfolio Management with EnterpriseArchitecture Management systems benefit organizations? For executive leaders, understanding and implementing Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) and EnterpriseArchitecture Management (EAM) are key to navigating this complex environment.
A lot of articles on business analysis career development, BA tools & techniques, Agile, AI and EnterpriseArchitecture this time. In the enterprise, we are concerned with the interaction between technological systems and the humans involved in business processes. I am describing it here.

Data governance refers to the strategic management of data within an organization. At its core, data governance aims to answer questions such as: Who owns the data? Data Governance Vs. Data Management What’s the difference between data governance and data management?

Remember last time you had to apply for a permit, apply for a job, enroll into a training course or get any service from the government?

There’s like really interesting things about like how we’re going to deal with, you know, corporate compliance and financial governance and, you know, audit, product management, enterprisearchitecture, DevOps, right? There’s a lot of different stuff that goes into this.
Failing to do so may result in issues in production systems, in terms of Audit, Governance, Security, and Operations. Random customizations make the products compatible with the existing enterprisearchitecture which makes the network vulnerable. Audit and Governance are not manageable if the customizations are not end-to-end.

Enterprisearchitecture systems for mapping out the connective tissue of the enterprise. An ITSM system for defining configuration items, managing incidents, and orchestrating change.
And so, from how we do governance and how we do project planning and how we do organizational structure, all those kinds of things, right, so there’s this big hop. Because those are the things that fundamentally get in the way how we govern, right, how we deal with cross cutting concerns. Backlogs becomes governance.
What do you do with EnterpriseArchitecture like, the whole thing, right? And so, I think there’s like a reference architecture to organizational design that I believe is true and I think it’s [cross-talking 16:01]. How do you go up into investment management, that kind of a thing? What do you do with audit and compliance?
Talk to the enterprisearchitecture experts who understand your company’s current systems and how they communicate. Speak with the people who oversee data governance, establish data processes, and ensure all product launches adhere to the process. The approach you take to advocating for PIM depends upon who you’re talking to.
And so if you show up and like you say, “Hey, I want to adopt Agile,” but you know, you’re not familiar with the strategies or Agile governance strategies or such, right? Why the Agile Industry is Stuck One of the things I want to do over the next week, month, couple of months is to start talking about some higher-level things in the industry, such as how to deal with OKRs , business architecture, investment strategy, enterprisearchitecture, leadership in organizational design , and all those kinds of things.
And it’s like this whole story that I’ve been telling around the Agile transformation, it’s like teams, backlogs working to test the software, structure, governance symmetrics at scale. Governance and Compliance are Non-Negotiable Imagine scaling a business only to be crushed by regulatory fines. Solid governance ensures your architecture isnt a ticking time bomb. Your enterprisearchitecture demands the same vigilance. Analyze how these technologies can drive your core objectives. The future?
The Challenge for Enterprise Architects EnterpriseArchitecture (EA) is at a crossroads. Economic uncertainty, geopolitical instability, and the explosion of AI-driven initiatives mean that enterprise architects must redefine their roles to remain relevant and valuable.
The exhaustion of natural resources and the warming of the planet, an aging population, the pervasive integration of AI into our lives, and crises in political systemsall of these are happening right now, calling into question existing social contracts and the governance frameworks of companies andstates. Global society will react too late.
Enterprisearchitecture is for enterprises, not for architects Invest in foundations: curated and searchable data, safe environment to access technical resources, guardrails. Give autonomy to junior management (team leads) in recruiting and growing their people.
