So last time I talked a little bit about this idea of Agile Open Digital that was part of this code aspect that we’ve encountered quite a bit, really similar to the stuff that Justice is talking about with how Tesla and SpaceX are building cars and rockets. We have to fundamentally rethink the architecture of our systems.

They’re really hunting organizational agility like how you get your company to become more agile, like at scale, like they weren’t talking like Fortune 10, Fortune 100 companies sometimes what does it mean to have business agility at that level of scale? And I was noticing what was going on in the market.
What I had been doing was working with businessarchitecture capability models to try to come up with organizational patterns and work breakdown patterns that matched so we could get worked on organizations. And so we kind of had this key insight about the relationship between businessarchitecture and team design and enterprise agile.

Is that a digitaltransformation problem? Is it a businesstransformation problem? We can start managing investment strategies, tying up to OKRs and KPIs, looking at the businessarchitecture of the organization, and understanding where we’re going to have bottlenecks in our system.
And businessarchitecture kind of a nebulous term, but how do you form teams? But we need to start to understand how business agility is different from team level agility. And what are the concerns of the executives when they say they want to do a digitaltransformation. How do you form teams across the enterprise?
It’s not just in team level transformation, but in enterprise-level transformation, a whole IT organization transformations we get involved in, helping people change their financial governance strategies, KPIs, OKRs, things like that. And in doing so, DevOps transformation, right? How do we educate them?
So I don’t care if you use Scrum to do that, but it wasn’t giving us the business benefits that we want. Sometimes it gets lumped into the idea of moving to the cloud or digitaltransformation. We want to manage those dependencies until we can break them.

So some of the things that we’re going to explore are ideas like businessarchitecture, business capability modeling. He talks about the relationship between data and domains and businessarchitecture. Great idea. If you take it down into its prescriptive methodological attributes, it loses something.
